Axolotl reptile that lives in the lakes in central Mexico. This salamander breathes underwater. It has the capability to regenerate its legs and other apendages in months and sometimes for vital organs as the central nervous system, tissues of the eyes, heart and parts of the brain.
This incredible creature is critically endangered due to the pollution in the lakes. Fewer than 1,000 axolotls survive in just three spots in Mexico.
